Good morning County. Happy Monday.
I know there has been lots of discussion around many a staff room table this past week about Bill 72 and the implications. Unfortunately, I still do not have a great deal of information to share with you, but will continue to monitor and pass along what I can.
As you are probably aware, there are a number of elections on-going at the present time. We have three awesome candidates vying for our one of our Provincial Executive positions, and they are Duncan Cameron, Shaun Doyle and Crystal Isert. We will be sending out lots of information about these three over the next few weeks leading up to the election, so stay tuned.
As well, there are a total of five candidates who have put their names forward to be the next NSTU president. They are Cherie Abriel, Liette Doucet, Shaun Hanifen , Paul Wozney, and yours truly, Grant Frost. Each candidate gets up to 15 days of sub coverage to campaign around the province. I will remain available via cell phone, and will be checking my email regularly on the days I am on the road. As well, I will be asking 1st VP, Paul Boudreau to come in for me as often as possible so that we are able to keep up with the day to day running of the County.
Finally, a note from the PD committee that the County PD fund has been completely depleted. However, the committee has started a wait list which will kick into gear once funds become available.
That is it for this week, all. Reach out with any questions/ concerns.
