Good morning County! Happy Monday!
Not much in the wind this week, as most of last week was taken up with the new contract information sessions. Please note that the asking packages will be available at our Annual General Meeting this Wednesday for schools who have not yet received them.
Speaking of the AGM, this year’s will feature a number of elections for local executive positions, as well as what is usually a fairly robust discussion about our budget for next year. All members are welcome to attend at the Calais Legion in Lower Sackville. 6:00 pm for a 6:30 pm start.
We do have a few small informational things for you today. The first is that we are having our final social event of the year this Thursday night at Patrons Lounge just off Larry Utek. Come join us between 4 pm and 7 pm for some light refreshments and some fun.
Second, I want to thank all of you who put members names forward for this year’s Inspire awards. We have our winners and we will be announcing them over the next two weeks! We will let you know as well when the winners will be appearing in the Herald.
Finally, a few congratulations are in order. To start with, Auburn Drive High School’s very own Melanie Kennedy was just announced as a recipient of a Certificate of Achievement from the Prime Ministers Award for Teaching Excellence. This is an incredibly high honour, and for those of us familiar with Ms. Kennedy, is very well deserved.
As well, Halifax County’s newest Provincial Executive member, Shaun Doyle, was just announced as having been selected to serve as the 2nd VP for the Provincial body. To be selected to this seat in his first year speaks volumes to the impact Mr. Doyle is having at the table.
That’s it for this week, County. We are in the home stretch. Here’s hoping your week is wonderful, and lets cross our fingers for a bit of sunshine 🙂
