Check-In, Tuesday, October 15th

Good Morning County! Happy Tuesday. I hope this weekend found you surrounded by family and friends, and that you were able to take a much deserved break.

Just a few bits and pieces today. I am really excited that we have our first Inspire award ready to go for this year. I will be contacting the member’s school this week and arranging a visit, so stay tuned for the announcement next week.

Remember, any member can nominate another member for an Inspire award. This does not need to be a case of “going above and beyond”. The nominee can simply be someone who stands out in your school for their overall excellence as a professional. Simply send a short write up of why they inspire you to halifaxcountlocal@nstu.ca.

As well, all members are reminded of the upcoming Provincial Executive Election. The two members vying for the seat are Duncan Cameron and Drew Fournier. They will be addressing the members at the local meeting on Wednesday, and there will be a chance for a question/ answer period. If you wish to find out more about the candidates, come out to the Legion in Lower Sackville at 6pm.

In other news, our fantastic communications committee has a drive on for social media-ites! All members are invited to like/ follow our pages to be entered into a draw for a gift card (these will be announced on Wednesday as well)
