Check-In May 10th, 2021


This weeks Check-in will be brief as it is staffing/job application time for members. Please make sure that you have all your pertinent information, including your teaching qualifications updated on your resume/CV at myHRCE. Due to the pandemic, the process will be done electronically for the second year in a row due to COVID restrictions. 

Also, please don’t forget that the Halifax County Local Bursary application process is now open. The link is both on the local website and provided below in the Announcements. This bursary is available to graduating students of a Halifax County Local member. Please note, you must belong to County Local to be eligible. The link to the application is prominently displayed on our home page, and we encourage you to make sure your graduate reads the application fully. As well, please remind them that if they use an e-mail to contact the committee, that it be one they will be able to access come the fall.




Here is the link for the Halifax County Local bursary application form for 2020-2021. This Bursary is for 2021 high school graduating students of who are children (step-children) of current Halifax County Local members (not retired or substitutes or PSSANS). This link is now open and closes Friday, May 21st.



Local standing committee applications and nominations for executive are now open.  Committee applications close on Friday, May 14 at 4pm.

Note:  due to the virtual format of the June 9 Annual General Meeting, no nominations for local executive officers will be taken from the floor.  All local executive officer nominations are due by Friday, May 21 at 4pm.

Any member interested in contracts should sigh up for the ‘Contract Workshop’ on May 19th at 6:00 pm .
