Check-In March 25th, 2024

Good morning,

It has definitely been a busy week! First, thank you to the staff at CPA for having me out this week on the anniversary of the assaults at your school. I want you to know that 2300 members are thinking about you all and that workplace violence will continue to be addressed by this local and the NSTU as a whole. There is NO place in our system for incidents like this and the issues and concerns around school safety has gone on far too long without being addressed.

And please see the Announcements for the week, there are quite a few with the recent Strike announced this past Wednesday. There are some important upcoming dates for both the local and the NSTU (local President election, Bursary, Rally/Strike Vote, etc.) so please make members aware of these.

Last, but not least, I want everyone to have a great long weekend, after report cards and PT interviews you all deserved some much needed time to rest and relax with your families.

Check-In March 18th, 2024

Good morning, everyone,

It is hard to believe we are at the 2/3 point of the school year and heading down the back stretch. Today is also the one-year anniversary of the assaults that occurred at CP Allen High, and the local would like to say that our thoughts are with those members, staff and students at the school as they return to class this week. The trial also is set to begin today. Both are a reminder to us all of the need to have real safe schools.

Please see the Announcements for the week, especially those regarding the Bursary, Reps event and INSPIRE Awards nominations.

Should you require additional information please contact NSTU Central Office by phoning (902)-477-5621, or toll free at (800) 565-6788 or by emailing registry@nstu.ca.
